arrived in south africa!!!

so. do samma mit die christbama. angekommen.
gluecklich das kleine schwarze wieder zu haben und jetzt vollgas unterwegs in richtung bewohnbares eigenheim.
kurz: es ist schon wirklich seeeehr schoen hier. die leute sind so sonnig, das haus ist fantastisch (noch in der phantasie, aber die grundmauern bieten viel spielraum), der pool ist doch wesentlich groesser als auf den fotos (7m lang!) und schon allein die nachbarn in unserer coolen strasse sind jung, freundlich, witzig, und wohl kleine partymaeuse.
bilder krieg ich noch nicht hin. das internet ist hier auch noch nicht besonders weit gediehen aber es wird schon werden. blake und ich rackern von 6.30 morgens bis spaet abends um das haus halbwegs hinzukriegen und sind nur noch verstaubt und muede. beide lernen wir unsere african lessons was verlaesslichkeit und geschwindigkeit angeht. auch simples benutzen der grauen zellen in sachen verstand ist hier eher selten. nett ist es allerdings, dass wir z.b. einen elektriker aus bayern haben. do geht wos weida - und der blake briefed ihn auf deutsch!!
hier noch ein paar absolute schuettelreim-highlights, die mir meine freundin antschi als wegweiser durchs wilde afrika geschickt hat:

Suedafrikanische Tierwelt und Aengste:
Man hört aus Angst vor Warzenschweinen
Gar oft die kleinen Schwarzen weinen,
Und sieht sie in der Wiege zittern,
Sobald sie eine Ziege wittern.

Brunnenbau in Afrika:
Dass sie ihm nicht ins Wasser machen,
darüber wird der Massa wachen.

Südafrikanischer Leibesriese:
Bei dem, was an dem Buren hang,
da wurde sogar Huren bang!

Stoßseufzer eines in Afrika lebenden Wieners:
Lokale wie die Resi-Bar
Sind leider am Sambesi rar.

Party:
Da meine Gäste fade blicken
werd ich im Eck die Blade ficken.

Diagnose:
Es zeigt die rote Stirnhaut
das sich das Blut im Hirn staut

wedding of clynton and ian, lake district, uk

last weekend blake and i met in london to join dear friends in the celebration of the civil union ceremony of pats and ian. they married in the lake district, 100eds of kms north of london (see mad cows on the bridge??).
in a surrounding where you would expect rosamunde pilcher to write her books whilst being accompanied by the calendar girls.
incredible landscape , charming people (mostly south africans ... of course), perfect weather. we wish the newly weds all the best! here a few assorted photographs.
btw: hardy (from laurel and hardy) was born in that village.
