wedding of clynton and ian, lake district, uk

last weekend blake and i met in london to join dear friends in the celebration of the civil union ceremony of pats and ian. they married in the lake district, 100eds of kms north of london (see mad cows on the bridge??).
in a surrounding where you would expect rosamunde pilcher to write her books whilst being accompanied by the calendar girls.
incredible landscape , charming people (mostly south africans ... of course), perfect weather. we wish the newly weds all the best! here a few assorted photographs.
btw: hardy (from laurel and hardy) was born in that village.

watching the fantastic broadcast of mozarts "die fledermaus" on orf2 live from salzburg. the right atmosphere to spend the last evening in a furnished apartment. the next few weeks i will just have myself, some clothes, necessities, a matress on the ground ... and a laptop in conjunction with my lovely internet connection.

slowly starting to say good bye

isn´t it weird, that the most ordinary thing like driving the car out of the company´s parkhouse suddenly becomes somewhat special, when doing it for the very last time after more than 5 years...
i just had to catch this very special and utterly precious moment ;o)

an old love for sale!

130.000 kilometers full of good memories. I will miss that little scrap heap... but it simply drives on the right side of the road, which unfortunately is not popular in South Africa.
