... mit der wir fast JEDES wochenende verbringen. kein wochenende ist komplett, ohne dass die drei bei uns vorbeischaun. well, und unser pool hat solarheizung - und deren einer ist arschkalt.
aber wohl auch weil wir uns moegen. und der kleine ist auch ein absolut cooles kid, sehe sich einer mal das survivor-outfit an:

FreshlyGround muss man einfach kennen und lieben. Zu haben gibts in DE und AT im Moment nur die vorletzte CD, die aber auch saugut ist (Doo Bee Doo wird hier nach wie vor rauf und runter gespielt).

im gespräch mit DER musik expertin österreichs (und die kennt wirklich alles) komm ich so langsam drauf, dass vieles was sich hier im radio wie ein welthit anhört - wohl von hierzulande kommt - und auch nur hierzulande bekannt ist.
und man kriegts nicht digital. in keinem onlineshop. nix itunes. nirgandwo!

mit glück findet man was auf youtube (aber auch nur mit geringen viewer zahlen, hat ja auch kein einer vernünftiges breitband hier).

das beispiel des tages ist DANNY K, der saß an meinem ersten abend in south africa (19.9.2006) am nebentisch, alle waren ganz ausm häuschen weil der ja so toll ist. und ich hatte natürlich keine ahnung.
ausserdem wohnt er in derselben gegend - nur ein paar strassen weiter. aber besser mal das video anschauen. sauguter song...

die fand ich hier ja immer schon ziemlich gut durchdacht. ab und an sieht man eine auffällig gerade gewachsene palme - und man muß wirklich genauer hinschauen um zu sehen, dass das gewächs weder sonne noch wasser braucht.
und landschaftsgestaltungstechnisch sind die dinger einwandfrei...

ja ich weiss. ungefähr 90% der einträge handeln von unsren hunden. aber nachdem sich einfach viel in unserem leben um die 2 köter dreht, drehen wir auch viel um sie herum. hier ein sonntag nachmittag mit der grossen schwarzen im pool. man beachte die sprungtechnik!

wenn man mal von den "afrikaanse treffer" absieht, was ungefaehr genauso vertraeglich ist, wie das was man zhaus als volksduemmliche musik kennt > suedafrika hat musiktechnisch echt was zu bieten: FreshlyGround z.b. kennt ja derzeit wohl jeder - wobei ich diesen song am liebsten mag - und das video ist einfach nur putzig:

ewichkeiten isses jetzt her, nach langer blog-pause meldma uns zurueck - hab mich ein bisserl mit animoto rumgespielt - es folgen ein paar videos mit bildern der letzten wochen.
der erste - es gibt einen neuen hund. und ein security concept - damit nie mehr wieder passiert, was nie passieren haette duerfen.
der kleine heisst EDMUND (wie STOIBER oder SACKBAUER), schielt mit dem rechten auge, hat das apple logo auf seinem rechten wamperl (wird deswegen von mir auch MAC DOG genannt) und schleppt eine menge charakterlicher issues mit sich rum. wir denken, dass er viel zu frueh von seiner mutter getrennt wurde und zudem wohl in seinen ersten wochen ziemlich schlecht behandelt wurde. auf jeden fall ist er der groesste angsthase unter allen jack russells johannesburgs... also nix mit alpha maennchen, der haus, hof und maid beschuetzt... aber wurscht, liab isser allemal:

On our short trip to Duesseldorf / Vienna / Bucklige Welt last week we reduced our shopping to a minimum. House plus renovation is always a serious spending event, no matter which country one is living in - and we are broke! So we didn't buy anything for ourselves... only our little Lab girl got some presents. A dog collar in swiss design and made of organic leather (from a nice shop in Vienna) and the coolest sunglasses for dogs = DOGGLES.
She wears them with pride - and they are perfect for car trips: No more red eyes from enjoying the wind by sticking her head out of the window!
The doggles are from a fascinating shop on the Koenigsallee in Duesseldorf (www.kokovonknebel.com).

Renovation Phase II - Video

After Phase I where we did most of the inside of our house we are now finished with the outside and created a superb little place we call our home. Just wait to the end of the video - the new garden is slowly getting green:

What we did last Winter!!!

We worked really hard the last 2 months to perform an extreme makeover of garden, pool, wall to neighbours, cottage, garage, well - basically the whole outside area around our house. This Flickr photoset shows quite nicely what sort of development we went through. And only people living in South Africa know what you have to go through when performing a building project...what you want to get done really nicely and with high quality expectations > just do it yourself!
A few more weeks of gardening, decorating and touching up to go and we are ready for some serious pool parties!

Slowly getting there

Out of Hospital

Yesterday: Blake with her baby matress, her pillow (she needs a complete bed to sleep), food for a few days and her favourite toy... arriving at the veterinarian clinic. The doctors first comment "Well, that is one spoiled Labrador!"
Whatever - she had her surgery, they removed a tiny little loose piece of bone from a joint. Everything went great and after her recovery she will be 100% again!
When we picked her up today she came to us and first of all cried for minutes. She gave everything she can being THE Lab drama queen of note... but shame, she still is in post-surgery pain and we try our best to comfort her.
